Triton Digital Announces Australian Podcast Ranker Data for August 2026

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – September 16, 2026 Triton Digital®, the global technology and services provider to the digital audio, podcast, and broadcast radio industries, announced today the release of the August 2026 Australian Podcast Ranker, providing insights from Aug 1 – Aug 31, 2026, as measured by Triton’s Podcast Metrics measurement service.


The Top Podcast Ranker and Top 300 Australian-Made Ranker are ranked by monthly listeners, in accordance with IAB Podcast Technical Measurement Guidelines.

In August, the Top International Podcast Ranker saw "Mamamia Out Loud" (Mamamia) continue at the #1 spot, with "Hamish & Andy" (LiSTNR (SCA)) remaining at #2 and "ABC News Top Stories" (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) holding steady at #3. These same three podcasts also topped the Top 300 Australian-Made Ranker, with "Mamamia Out Loud" at #1, "Hamish & Andy" at #2 and "ABC News Top Stories" at #3.

Triton’s Demos+ tool, which leverages opt-in, download-based behavior data, found that in August the top categories for listeners were News at #1, Society & Culture at #2, and Sports at #3.


The international-only debuts for August were “Nature Sounds” (Australian Broadcasting Corporation), “Burden of Guilt Season 3” (ARN/iHeart), “10 to Life” (Audioboom), and more.


Debuts of Australian-made shows this month included “Who the Hell is Hamish?” (News Corp Australia), “Central Station - True Stories from Outback Australia” (DM Podcasts), “AFL Nation” (Sports Entertainment Network (SEN)), and more.


The show “Law The Podcast” (ARN/iHeart) debuted across both international and Australian-made shows.


The Demos+ Top Indexing Programs by Audience Composition report for the first half of 2026 has also been released and is now available on the Triton Rankers website.
