Triton Digital Reports Growth of Radio Streaming Driven by Mobile and Smart Speaker Listening Amid COVID-19
LOS ANGELES – APRIL 10, 2020 – Triton Digital®, the global technology and services leader to the digital audio and podcast industry, today released new data around the consumption of AM/FM radio station streams in the U.S. during the COVID-19 dislocation.
Triton analyzed data from more than 3,200 Commercial Radio Broadcasters whose streams are measured by the Webcast Metrics® streaming measurement service, reporting on change in streaming during the week ending March 21st versus an average of the prior four weeks.
During this period, overall streaming of U.S. radio stations increased by 3% when compared to the average, with Streaming on mobile devices up 6% and streaming on Smart Speakers up 4%.
