Francis Champoux
Vice-President Professional Services and Special Projects

Francis Champoux joined StreamTheWorld as Vice President, Professional Services & Special Project in 2007. He leads the company’s Professional Services Department, taking on challenges that fall outside the purview of other areas. Some of his accomplishments include building a new billing system and helping the growing company establish several departments.
Special projects are tailor made for a person with a flexible style, inquisitive mind, and organized approach—not to mention the ability to think on one’s feet. It’s clearly a good fit for Francis Champoux, an engineer by training who began his career as an emergency preparedness consultant at a Hydro-Québec nuclear power plant.
He went on to work for start-ups owned by major Canadian companies. As Special Projects Director at Cesart, a Bell Canada company, he set up a number of departments, including Quality Assurance and IT support, and led the company’s project management area.
At Gesca, a Power Corporation company, he served as a consultant, putting in place systems and processes and establishing a project management function for a start-up Web development firm owned by Gesca.
Francis Champoux holds a degree in engineering from Ecole d’ingénierie de Trois-Rivières. He is also a founder of CFOU 89.1 FM, the campus radio station of Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. He played a pioneering role in Internet radio there, becoming the first person in the world to stream francophone student content over the Web, foreshadowing his eventual association with streaming technology leader StreamTheWorld.
